Intent
The
schedule groups selected, and common components that makes up most homes
into maintenance priorities. Some components will require attention
monthly while others will require it quarterly, biannual, or once a
year. This is why a different schedule arrives each month. After 12
months, all maintenance tasks have been performed and the schedule
starts again for the next year.
The schedule is a living program that changes with new products
and improved maintenance methods. Homeowners
differ in their abilities to perform maintenance and repairs to their
home. Some
are equipped with the knowledge and tools necessary to take on any task;
others do not and rely on contractors to protect them. Regardless of
what your comfort level is, most people can view their home thru an
inexpensive set of binoculars and see changing conditions.
Most of today’s home stores specialize in helping the homeowner
with maintenance and repairs concerns; they even recommend contractors
who will fulfill the maintenance requirements of your home.
If you find yourself unfamiliar with something and need help,
take a picture of the project, and together with the instructions in the
Guide, show it to a salesperson for advice.
There are also many home improvement books and Internet sites
available to help you along. Disclaimer
